From the Desk of Dr. G MEA Break MEA break is this week. There is no school for students Wednesday, October 14 through Friday, October 16. Our district-wide elementary conferences are being held this evening and all day Wednesday. We appreciate the opportunity to connect and partner with you.
Did You Know? Support Available We are fortunate to continue our partnership with Relate Counseling Center to provide counseling services for students focusing on mental health, behavioral concerns, family challenges, grief, and trauma. Typically the family's insurance is used and if that is not possible financial assistance is available. Although we work in partnership with Relate Counseling Services, their services are confidential and information is shared with school staff if the family consents to this. Please contact Kristy Maas or 763-745-5507 for more information.
Reminders No School Friday, October 23 for Elementary Planning Day Friday, October 23 will be a no school day for kindergarten through grade 5 students as elementary staff will be participating in a district-wide planning day. There will be no morning meetings or distance learning work assigned for this day. Wayzata Kids childcare will continue to be available to tier 1 critical workers.

PTA News Reminder! Grizzly Dash fun run continues through October 21 Thank you to the many families who have already donated to our Grizzly Dash, our one large-scale PTA fundraiser of the school year! We have already raised more than $7,000, unlocking our first school-wide prize – four new playground games for our students to enjoy at recess!
Also, you may have heard that slime is back! Over the past few years, slime has become somewhat of a Greenwood tradition as a way to thank the students for their tremendous fundraising efforts. So far this year, at least one Greenwood staff member will face the slime, and we hope to add more to the slime list as funds continue to come in through October 21.
As a reminder, the Greenwood PTA raises money each year to fund a wide variety of programs and initiatives that enhance every student's school experience. In recent years, PTA dollars have funded numerous purchases such as Virtual Reality headsets, 2 Gaga ball pits for the playgrounds, visits from renowned authors including Hena Khan and Erin Soderberg, robotics equipment and software, a new drone, an outdoor sound system, numerous school-wide online subscriptions, books for the Media Center, field trips, and much, much more.
There's still plenty of time to donate if you haven't already. Visit PledgeStar and follow the simple instructions to create your child's personal fundraising page. It's quick and easy!
If you have questions, feel free to contact Grizzly Dash co-chairs Jenny Terres or Andrea Andersen.
