Distance Choice Material Pick-Up Grades 2-5
Kindergarten and Grade 1 If your child is in Distance Choice and you are unable to make your assigned pick-up time, the alternative pick up time will be Monday, September 14, from 9:00-10:00 a.m. outside the school's front entrance.
Students in Hybrid will pick up their materials their first day on campus: A group on September 14, and B group on September 15. Please look for additional information from your child's classroom teacher. By Sunday evening, teachers will post their Week-at-a-Glance for families.
Did You Know? Virtual Open House Thank you for participating in our first virtual open house on Wednesday. Hopefully you were able to connect with teachers and get your questions answered. If you haven't done so already, please communicate your child's end of day plans to your child's classroom teacher as soon as possible. This is important for a smooth school day. Thank you!
Car Drop Off if possible, please have your child ride the morning bus. If that is not possible, the morning car drop off will take place from 7:25-7:45 on the south playground (near soccer fields). Take an immediate right upon entering campus. Drive the loop around the building. Both you and your child stay in the car. A KL staff member will take your child's temperature while your child is in the car. If your child has a fever over 100.4º you will continue driving and head home. If your child's temperature is until 100.4º, your child will exit your car and head to class. Thank you in advance for your patience and attention to safety as we institute this new health protocol.
First Day of School School starts on Monday, September 14 at 7:45. If your child is on campus, please have your child bring their mask. Here is a quick video that shows some of the protocols we will have in place for our Hybrid students. We are excited to see them on campus!
Hybrid B Group: Learning Plan for September 14 Please look for additional information from your child's classroom teacher. By Sunday evening, teachers will post their Week-at-a-Glance for families.

Stock the Break Room! Please help the PTA in welcoming back all of teachers and staff this fall by stocking their break room! Please sign up to donate items and let our teachers know how much we appreciate all that they are doing this fall. All items can be dropped off in bins found outside Kimberly Lane's front doors by Friday, September 18 by noon. When you are dropping off during the week, please make sure it is at school by 3:00 so it does not sit outside all night. If you have any questions, reach out to Kelly Koziol at kelsauer@comcast.net
Join the PTA The PTA will play a vital role in the upcoming school year - building community, communicating with parents and teachers, and advocating for your child. Please consider becoming a member of Kimberly Lane's PTA (Parent-Teacher Association) and let your child know how important they are to you. Joining is the easiest part - there are no time commitments or volunteer commitments - unless you want to become more involved.
Wayzata Spirit Wear Although we can't all be together on a daily basis, we are still part of an awesome community! Show your Wayzata Spirit and support the Kimberly Lane PTA by purchasing spirit wear at 24/7 Active in Wayzata. At least 10% of all purchases are donated back to the school. All items can be shipped directly to your home or they offer free in-store pick up.

Around the District How to Access Your Child's Culinary PIN Stay Home When Ill and Be Prepared to Quarantine It is important to be prepared as we begin the new school year in the midst of a pandemic. Our new reality will require students, families and staff to check daily for symptoms and stay home if you are ill. If you or someone in your family is ill, please reference the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) Decision Tree document to learn what your next steps should be. Report any student absences into Skyward Family Access, specifying if the absence is COVID-19 related. Our school nurses will follow up with any COVID-19 related cases. If you are tested for COVID-19, even if you feel well, it is important that you remain home and away from others until you receive the results. Everyone must be prepared to stay home and quarantine for up to two weeks if you become ill with or are exposed to COVID-19. We know being quarantined for two weeks will be extremely challenging, but it is absolutely necessary to stop the spread of the virus. Learn how you can prepare for a possible quarantine. Our nurses will be working closely with MDH to notify students and staff as soon as possible if you have been exposed to COVID-19 at school. Always answer your phone if MDH is calling. If you have questions, please contact the licensed nurse at your school. More detail and helpful information can also be found on our Wayzata Learns webpage. Staying Safe at School We are busy preparing our buildings and staff for the start of the new school year, with a big focus on preventing the spread of COVID-19 within our staff and student body. All of our buildings have optimal ventilation and enhanced cleaning and sanitation procedures are in place. Our school principals have established new guidelines for everything from entering the building to eating lunch. We need you to understand and follow them so that we can all stay safe and prevent the spread of the virus.
