Message from Mrs. Paul Greetings, Plymouth Creek Families!
It is important to me to express gratitude often. I would like to begin this first newsletter of the school year by saying a huge thanks to you for your patience and understanding as we navigate the start of this school year. Plymouth Creek staff are committed to providing the best possible experience for each and every one of our students. Our hope is that your children feel safe, loved, and appropriately challenged while in our care.
This newsletter will include helpful information as you prepare for the first days of school. As we navigate through this year, continue to communicate important information. This is a partnership, and together, we can support your students.
Hybrid and Distance Choice Instruction We will begin the school year offering Hybrid and Distance Choice instruction. Our teachers will continue to work collaboratively to engage students in relevant, meaningful, and engaging learning activities across all grade levels in both instructional models.
Learn about about what you can expect in the Hybrid and Distance Choice models. More information will be communicated by your child's classroom teacher during their Virtual Open House presentations.
Safety at School Using guidance from the Minnesota Department of Health and the Minnesota Department of Education, our district has worked to establish some routines to keep us safe at school. Together, we will need to do our part to help keep all of us healthy this year. For a snapshot of the safety protocols for the year, you may visit the We all play a part in staying safe at school section of the Wayzata Learns website to learn more. We will continue to do our best to align our protocol to the state recommendations.
Enjoy these last few weeks of summer. I look forward to connecting with your children soon.
In partnership, Ashley
Back to School Events Classroom and Teacher Assignment - Tuesday, September 1 Information about your child's teacher will be made available at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 1 in Skyward Family Access. Due to the complexity of creating balanced classes which meet our capacity requirements, please refrain from requesting changes to these schedules and placements.
Kindergarten Orientation - By Appointment Welcome to the class of 2033! We are thrilled that you are joining us. Details about our Kindergarten Orientation events, including sign up information, will be communicated directly to all kindergarten families. Virtual Open House - Wednesday, September 9 Plymouth Creek classroom teachers will host two virtual Open House events on Wednesday, September 9 at 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. via Zoom. This is an opportunity to meet your child's teacher(s), review some of the new school procedures for the year, and for your child to have an opportunity to meet some of his/her classmates. A Zoom link will be provided by your child's teacher prior to September 9. Each teacher will host two sessions to accommodate families who have multiple elementary-aged children. Information shared during the presentation will be sent in an email following the event.
iPad and Materials Pick-Up for Distance Choice Students - September 8 or 10 Students who are enrolled in the Distance Choice option will be able to pick up iPads and other supplies on Tuesday, September 8 and Thursday, September 10 between 8:00-10:00 a.m. and 12:00-2:00 p.m. This is a drive-up experience; staff will bring items to families at their vehicles.
School Supplies 1-5 grade school supply lists can be found on our Plymouth Creek website. Students in both the Hybrid and Distance Choice models should have these supplies. Kindergarten students will purchase a supply pack from the school, and families will receive information about these supplies from your child's kindergarten teacher.
First Day of School - Monday, September 14 or Tuesday, September 15 We look forward to officially welcoming you back to school on September 14 (Cohort A) and September 15 (Cohort B) for Hybrid and Distance Choice students. School hours are from 7:45 to 2:25 daily.

Volunteer Needs
Around the District We are busy preparing our buildings and staff for the start of the new school year, with a big focus on preventing the spread of COVID-19 within our staff and student body. All of our buildings have optimal ventilation and enhanced cleaning and sanitation procedures are in place. Our school principals have established new guidelines for everything from entering the building to eating lunch. We need you to understand and follow them so that we can all stay safe and prevent the spread of the virus.
Community Education New Online Classes We welcome you to our online classrooms! Our online classes ensure that you are able to gain valuable information, stay on track with your fitness routine, learn new skills, and connect with others during the next month. Our buildings may be closed, but lifelong learning never stops. We are offering a variety of online classes for adult and youth. You can find all the online options on our registration site. Financial assistance is available or call 763-745-5200 for more information.
