From the Desk of Dr. G Honoring Our Retirees Our school is forged from the contributions of countless people who have invested in students' lives over the years. Teachers, parents, paraprofessionals, businesses, and PTA volunteers...to name a few. We wanted to let you know four members of our school community are retiring at the end of this year. These educators have helped our staff, students, and school in so many ways:
Saying thank you for a lifetime of service during a school closure hardly seems ideal (especially when working with students and families is the most meaningful thing we get to do). However, we believe we might be able to celebrate our retirees from a distance by sharing simple memories. If you or your child have a memory or thank you to share, please email it to Kristen Smith by Friday, May 22 and we will be sure it gets to the specific person you mention in your email.
Distance Learning Continues All Elementary teachers will be participating in a district-wide planning day on Friday, May 22. In an effort to continue learning, your teacher will share assignments or work expectations that can be completed on May 22. Teachers will be busy planning and preparing for the end of the school year and next fall.

Wayzata Education Fund’s Thank a Teacher Program We have the best teachers and staff around, and never has it been clearer than during these unprecedented times. Whether they’ve helped make a difference in person or virtually this year, show your appreciation by participating in our Thank a Teacher program. From May 4 to June 3, any donation you make to the Wayzata Education Fund honoring a teacher or staff will come with a certificate of appreciation from your student. Additionally, if you donate $25 or more, they will also receive a bundlet from Nothing Bundt Cakes Minnetonka. Say thank you and support a good cause at the same time! Certificates will be sent via email. Bundlets will be delivered at a later date when it is deemed safe to do so, and when teachers and staff are back on school property. What can I do to protect myself and others?
