How to Contact Your School Counselor

Wayzata Public Schools will be closed through April 5. As a school community, we acknowledge this temporary change in our way of life will be trying for families. We are here for you, and collectively, we will continue to provide support for you!

Students are encouraged to use the Student Support Scheduler to book remote appointments with their support staff via phone or Google Hangout.

  • Counselors and other support staff members will call students at the phone number they provide in the appointment sign-up.
  • If a Google Hangout is preferred over a phone call, please set up an online appointment, and then email your support staff member to let them know.
  • For same day needs, email your support staff directly or call your floor office.

Information about online learning plans, meals for students in need, childcare for emergency personnel, and more is available on our Coronavirus COVID-19 Response Plan webpage.

Counseling Tips

Social + Emotional

Set boundaries for yourself around the amount of virus-related news you can take in. Keep up-to-date on important information, but turn off the news when it feels like too much.

If you are able to safely, and while keeping social distance guidelines in mind - get outside! Take a short walk, or sit outside in the sun for a minute and take a deep breath.

Look for new ways to connect with your friends remotely - workout together over video chat, call to check in instead of texting, etc.

Academic

If you have been feeling behind on school work, now is a great time to catch up. Email teachers or anyone on your student support team if you are needing help with where to start.

Wanting a schedule change for Term 4? Email your counselor or make an appointment with them as soon as possible. All schedule changes need to be made prior to the start of Term 4.

Post-Secondary

Seniors: Still not sure what your plan is for next year? Your counselor is here to help! Make an appointment to solidify next steps with your counselor.
