Dear Wayzata Staff, I'm writing to provide clarity regarding staff expectations for Wednesday, March 18, Thursday, March 19, and Friday, March 20. We wanted to make sure you had these reporting expectations now so you can make any necessary personal plans, and you will receive additional information from your supervisor as appropriate. Reporting expectations beyond March 20 will be shared in future communications. Staff will be expected to either report to work or to engage in work from home. This expectation includes attending meetings (IEP, PLCs, evaluations and regularly-scheduled meetings) remotely during this time period. Please remember that entry to all district buildings will require your badge. It should also be noted that employees should not report to work under the following conditions. Please report absences as usual. When to stay home. - Oral fever of 100ยบ F or higher. Do not return to work until you are fever-free (without medication) for 24 hours.
- Two or more episodes of vomiting within a 24-hour time period.
- Diarrhea, increased number of stools compared with a person's normal pattern. Do not return to work until the diarrhea stops or a medical exam indicates this is not due to a communicable disease.
- Rashes – Please seek out a medical evaluation to indicate symptoms are not communicable.
- Uncontrolled coughing, difficulty breathing, wheezing, unusually tired, unusual color. Again, seek medical attention.
Employee Group Reporting Expectations - E-12 Teaching Staff - All E-12 teaching staff should continue to work on preparing eLearning lessons and all other tasks and responsibilities expected of teaching staff. This work may be done from home or during established building hours, Wednesday, March 18, Thursday, March 19 and Friday, March 20. (Includes ECFE, Preschool, Peer Coaches, Counselors, Deans, Social Workers, Teachers on Special Assignment, Long-Term Reserves, and School Nurses.)
- Culinary Express Staff - Culinary staff do not report to work on Wednesday, March 18, Thursday, March 19 and Friday, March 20 except for those that have been scheduled by the Director of Culinary Express to work food distribution.
- Custodial Staff - Custodians should report during regularly scheduled hours on Wednesday, March 18, Thursday, March 19 and Friday, March 20 unless they have submitted the necessary paperwork for underlying health conditions. Elementary and Middle School will cover from 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. High School will operate first and second shifts. Please connect with your head custodians to confirm hours.
- Health and Media Paraprofessionals - Health and Media paraprofessionals should report for regularly scheduled or modified hours on Wednesday, March 18 for iPad distribution and medicine returns. Health and Media Paraprofessionals would not need to report on Thursday, March 19 or Friday, March 20.
- Office Paraprofessionals
- Elementary Office Paraprofessionals should report for regularly scheduled or modified hours on Wednesday, March 18 for iPad Distribution.
- Secondary Office Paraprofessionals should report for regularly scheduled hours on Wednesday, March 18. All office paraprofessionals should not report on Thursday, March 19 or Friday, March 20.
- Community Education Office Paraprofessionals should report during regularly scheduled hours on Wednesday, March 18, Thursday, March 19 and Friday, March 20 unless directed otherwise by the Director of Community Education.
- Other Paraprofessionals - Classroom, Instruction, ECFE, Pre-School (Peppermint Fence), Lunch/Recess, Security and all other paraprofessionals do not need to report to work on Wednesday, March 18, Thursday, March 19 and Friday, March 20.
- Principals and Associate Principals - Report to work during regularly-scheduled hours on Wednesday, March 18, Thursday, March 19 and Friday, March 20. Principals working from home should inform the Executive Director of Teaching and Learning.
- Secretaries - Twelve and 10-month Secretaries will work regularly scheduled hours on Wednesday, March 18. Staff may begin the process of transitioning to working from home on Thursday, March 19 and Friday, March 20. Staff must work with their direct supervisors to confirm work expectations. All Building Secretaries should leave a message on the main office phone line regarding the frequency in which messages will be checked and that emails are the preferred method of communication at this time.
- Special Education Paraprofessionals - Special Education paras do not need to report to work on Wednesday, March 18, Thursday, March 19 and Friday, March 20.
- Tech Paras - All building tech paraprofessionals should report on Wednesday, March 18 for regularly-scheduled hours to assist with iPad distribution. (Hours may be modified.) Tech Paras do not need to report to their buildings on Thursday, March 19 and Friday, March 20. The Director of Technology may assign tasks to be completed at home.
- Unaffiliated Staff - Unaffiliated Levels 1-9 should report to work on Wednesday, March 18, Thursday, March 19 and Friday, March 20 for regularly-scheduled hours. Staff, under the direction of their supervisors, may begin the process of transitioning to working from home.
- Wayzata Emergency Childcare previously Wayzata Kids (Home Base/Bright Start)
Will be located at Greenwood Elementary following regularly scheduled hours (6:30 a.m. to 6:15 p.m.). - Site Managers should report to work on Wednesday, March 18, Thursday, March 19 and Friday, March 20.
- Bright Start Preschool Program Instructors will continue preparing for eLearning Wednesday, March 18, Thursday, March 19 and Friday, March 20 and may work from home.
- Wayzata Kids/Home Base Program Instructors, Special Needs Program Instructors, and all Program Assistants will be contacted regarding staffing for Emergency Childcare.
