Technology Education Department News

On February 19 we had over 700 students attend our CTE Career Fair (up 100 from last year and up over 500 from the year before!) - it was such an exciting day! Representatives from over 50 different organizations came to talk with our students about potential careers in dozens of high demand, high wage careers. There was lots of excitement from the students about attending this event; however, we were most impressed with how excited exhibitors were to interact with our students. We had so many comments from our business partners about how great it was to engage with the students and how large numbers of students were hearing about some of these careers for the first time. We are gathering feedback from our vendors, but as of today 100% of our vendors said they would like to return for next year. Here is what one local technical college representative had to say about our CTE Career Fair - "I loved the vibe and enthusiasm of this event; once again, you guys did a fantastic job! Excited for next year!" Check out the CCX Media news story, as well as a video that our own school district produced about the day. We hope that your student was able to attend, if not we will look for them next year. If you work for a company or organization that would like to be represented next year please reach out to Deb.Musser@wayzataschools.org or Kyle.Swenson@wayzataschools.org.
