2020-2021 Course Registration & Registration Information Night Update WHS Course Registration has begun for the 2020-2021 school year! We hope you will join us tonight for Registration Information Night (open to all parents/guardians) and Parent/Guardian Orientation (open to Incoming 9th grade families)! Registration Information Night - Registration Information Night is a drop-in opportunity for students and you to explore course options for next year.
- Teachers will be available from all departments to answer questions.
- Seminars detailing information about selected courses will be presented; special seminars on "Top 20 Teens and Parents – Raising Happy, Responsible & Emotionally Healthy Children" and "Mental & Chemical Health Issues: What to look for and how to respond" will also be offered!
- Counselors will be available to help with course planning.
- Building tours will be offered every 30 minutes.
- Childcare will be provided by our Club Y.E.S. students, located in C207 (potty trained toddlers - 5 years) and B204 (ages 6-11 years).
- Note: If you are unable to attend Registration Information Night and/or Incoming 9th Grade Parent/Guardian Orientation, follow-up information will be shared via email.
- Please review the schedules before you arrive, which are separated by grade level to prevent confusion:
Incoming 9th Grade Parent/Guardian Orientation - Orientation is also scheduled for tonight, in Auditorium 1.
- Orientation will provide our incoming 9th grade parents/guardians with an opportunity to meet their student support team and learn about important scheduling information.
- Note: this presentation is geared towards parents/guardians; students may circulate around WHS and visit each department/exhibitor during this time.
- Two presentations will be offered, separated by students' last names:
- Students' Last Names A-Laq, 6:00-6:30 p.m.
- Students' Last Names Lar-Z, 7:30-8:00 p.m. (PLEASE NOTE)
- Please arrive a few minutes early and check-in near our auditorium entrances so we can provide you with an opportunity to meet your student's Counselor, Dean of Students, or Social Worker before the presentation begins.
- Parents/guardians may attend either of the Parent/Guardian Orientation sessions, but we recommend you attend with your student's last name to meet your student's support team.
The "Registration Guide" (course catalog) and "Registration Worksheet" are now available on all student iPads (grades 8-11). These can also be accessed via the WHS Website, under Academics-Registration. The WHS Registration website has a complete guide to registration, where you will find the 2020-2021 Course Registration Guide, registration grade-level worksheets, FAQs for incoming 9th grade students, and our Registration Information Night presentations (these will be published by Tuesday, February 4). We offer a wide variety of diverse, challenging learning opportunities and highly encourage you to meet with your student and assist in the course selection process. It is very important that students choose their courses carefully. Revisions to course selections after the registration window is closed are highly discouraged and can only be made with approval. If your student has a question regarding course selection for next year, please contact your student's alpha floor office to make an appointment with your student's counselor.
