Golden Tray Award Winners At Kimberly Lane we are focusing and recognizing students who are polite at lunch. The culinary express staff chooses one child per month in each grade level to win the Golden Tray Award. Here are the students whose politeness shined the brightest this last week. The winner of the Golden Tray Award actually wins the award for his/her class since the tray gets to be displayed in the winner's classroom the whole week. The Golden Tray Award is a traveling trophy and winners announced once each month! Congratulations to Alyssa, Audrey, Arya, Alex, Kevin, and Brendan! Outdoor Recess Reminder Please have your child bring the appropriate winter layers every day during our colder months. In the winter, students will go outside when the temperature is above -15º. If the temperature is close to that guideline, we will check three different weather stations using the 55446 ZIP code at the time of recess. At least two out of the three weather stations checked need to be above -15º for students to have outdoor recess. If it is too cold, students will have indoor recess in their classroom where they will be able to play board games, card games or read. Please contact your child's classroom teacher to see if he or she would like any donations of games for students to play for indoor recess. If your child is not well enough to go outside for recess, please keep him or her at home. If the illness is chronic in nature, please share the doctor's note with the health office, so we have that on file. It is expected that all students go outside for recess unless they have a doctor's note on file. Be working with your student so that they can be independent in putting all their snow gear on by themselves. Thank you for your support with this. If your family would like financial assistance getting winter gear, please contact our school social worker, Erica Reina, at Erica.Reina@wayzataschools.org for support. Please mark all clothing with your child's name, so if it is misplaced we may return it to your child. If there is no name and the item isn't picked up from our lost and found, it is donated monthly. Each year we easily donate over $1,000 worth of clothing from our lost and found. Yearbook Art Contest Extended We have extended our yearbook art cover contest through Monday, December 16.
