Note from Principal Keffeler Hello Meadow Ridge Families,
Remember to turn your clocks back this weekend! Even small time changes can affect us for a week or two – especially for children. Be aware as you schedule activities, and make sure they are staying with their designated bed times.
Morning Drop-off: As you drop at the curb in the morning, please be patient and leave the curb only when the car in front of you pulls away. Trying to leave before the rest of the line causes confusion and often takes more time than if people stayed in their position. Please, too, have your children ready to hop out of the car when you stop on the curb. They should have their outerwear on and backpacks at their feet. Parents should stay in the car as their children exit curbside.
Candy Drop-off: Will you have too much candy in your home after tonight? Consider donating to "Candy for Cancer." A group of fifth grade boys have organized the drive, and will be delivering candy to the Ronald McDonald house. Simply put your unwanted candy into a bag and have your child bring it to school November 1-6. There will be donation boxes on both levels. The boys have a goal of 50 pounds, which we easily collected last year. I'm proud of the way these students have handled all the details.
Lost & Found: The hat videos are back on Facebook! We already have a number of hats and mittens/gloves in our lost and found. Take a look on Facebook and claim these lonely items, and scan the photos below for coats and clothes.
Turkey Bingo is tomorrow night! Great prizes and teachers in goofy costumes – a recipe for fun!
Best, Karen

New Reading Curriculum Generates Excitement Katie Englund's 1st grade classroom at Gleason Lake Elementary helped to pilot the new reading curriculum that is now being used in all Wayzata elementary schools this year. Pictured here, Shae was super excited to find the word "hopes" in her book and insisted that her mom send Ms. Englund a picture right away.
