Did You Know? Fall Festival and Fun Run are Tomorrow, Friday, September 27 Fall Festival is tomorrow 4:30-6:30 p.m. There is still more time to make a pledge to our biggest fundraiser of the year. Send a check or make a donation on PledgeStar. If it is raining, the Fun Run will be in the gym. Clementines will be provided for students by our PTO. October Kindness Project Calling all caring kids! On October 3 and 4, first through fifth grade students will have the opportunity to participate in an outdoor Kindness Club project during their recess time. We will be creating a special gift for our local fire and police departments as a thank you for all they do in our community. Interested students can sign up in their classrooms. Together, students will show gratitude and at the same time feel good for doing an act of kindness.
Book Club Mrs. Whitlock will hold her first Book Club of the year on Friday, October 25. Students in grades 3-5 are invited to attend with a signed permission slip. Our first novel of the year is a funny book called No Talking by Andrew Clements. Please return a signed permission slip with your student to pick up a copy of the book.
Important Cell Phone Information If your child is coming to school with a cell phone, please remind your child that the cell phone needs to be in a backpack while on the bus. Please remember there is no supervision of cell phone use during this time.
PTO News Boxtops Update The collection contest will run the week of October 7, so keep your eyes peeled and clip those tops which equal 10¢ each for our school! This program will be switching over to a digital format and we will switch to "scanning" instead of "clipping" over the coming year. Around the District 2019 School Board Elections Youth Enrichment Opportunities Wayzata Legislative Action Committee (LAC) September Update Reporting Absences in Skyward Family Access Please remember that students will be considered unexcused if an absence is not reported. And you will still be able to call your school to report an absence if you don't have online access. It's also important to make sure your phone numbers are updated in Skyward Family Access in case of an emergency. Community Ed Our Wayzata MacPhail Strings program offers violin and cello lessons for 2-5 graders! Registration is open now through September 30. Lessons take place at Gleason Lake, Greenwood, Meadow Ridge, and Plymouth Creek, students from all elementary schools are welcome. (Cello lessons are at Greenwood on Tuesdays). After school youth classes at Gleason Lake: Destination ImagiNation Information Night for parents and Team Managers is Thursday, Oct 3, from 6:30-7:30 at Central Middle School.
