Note from Principal Keffeler

Hello Meadow Ridge Families!

As I type this message, we are fully staffed and ready to go! We've had a change in fourth grade. Suzanne Mauhar has accepted a half-time Literacy Intervention position in the building, and she is looking forward to working with students to accelerate their reading skills. Kelly Ashenfelter was hired yesterday to fill her spot. Kelly was most recently an Advanced Differentiation Specialist for Minneapolis Public Schools.

Kathy Hannan is our new Health Paraprofessional. Kathy is a medical assistant who has worked in local clinics for a number of years. Nurse Melissa will be working with her at the beginning of the year to make sure the Health Office is ready to go. Back to assist at lunch/recess are Mercy Sebastin and Kari Rohrich (both have previously worked in the building), as well as Alexa Den Hartog. Some of your children might know Alexa through Home Base at KL this summer.

And speaking of lunch/recess, we are trying a new schedule this year! There will be 2 grade levels that share the same time, with one grade level having recess then lunch, and the other grade level having lunch then recess. Students coming in from recess will be able to wash their hands in the 5 sinks that are near the cafeteria before they get into the lunch line. We may have to refine the "flow," so it will be a few weeks before parents are invited to have lunch with their child.

Our wonderful secretary, Courtney Christen, is taking a leave this year. We begin the search for her replacement, and her last day will be September 14.

Please continue to scroll down for important information.

See you in 11 days!

Karen
