6th Grade Student iPad Turn In On June 5, 2019, all 6th graders will be turning in their District-issued iPad, keyboard case, charger and cable (only Apple-brand chargers and cables will be accepted. Apple charging bricks are larger than iPhone/iPod charging bricks). All items are expected to be returned undamaged and in working condition.
If replacement parts need to be purchased, items can be purchased on EPay. Please purchase parts prior to the June 5 iPad check in date. Students will need to bring a printed receipt when returning equipment.
iPad damaged? Home button/volume button/headphone jack not working or inoperable? The iPad will need to be repaired prior to turning in the iPad.
If insurance was purchased, please file a claim with CPS. Make sure to allow plenty of time for claim submission, processing and repair to ensure iPad is received back prior to June 5.
Insurance not purchased, please visit one of the these repair facilities to get the iPad repaired.
Important iPads are being reissued to students in the fall. Any iPad turned in broken or inoperable will be assessed a fee of $299 replacement cost. If a fee is assessed, the fee will need to be paid prior to your child receiving a new device in August.
6th and 7th Graders New iPad Issued in August In August, your child will receive a new District-issued iPad as a part of the MyWay Personalized Learning program along with a cable, charging brick and protective keyboard case. Your child will be able to pick up their new iPad at Wayzata High School the week of August 5 (there will be no distributions of iPads at the middle schools).

Did You Know? 17th Annual Cross Country Race – Wednesday, May 22 The 4th-6th grade cross country meet (approximately 3/4 mile or 1200 M run) will be Wednesday May 22 (rain date is May 23) at the Central Middle School fields on the west side of the building. This is sponsored by Wayzata middle schools and Wayzata High School boys' and girls' cross country teams and coaches.
Computer Programming Opportunity for 6th and 7th Grade Girls The girls only computing camp is back by popular demand! Wayzata High School will be offering this week-long girls only summer camp for 6th and 7th graders June 17-21, 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Girls will learn programming concepts through Scratch software. They will have fun designing their own games and storyboards and will meet successful female role models in computing and technology who will discuss their stories and opportunities in this field. Sponsored by a grant from the National Center for Women and Information Technology, the entire week costs only $30! Limited spots are available on a first come, first served basis. 8th Grade Events CMS 8th Grade Presidential Awards Ceremony, May 31, 8:15 a.m.
8th Grade Carnival at CMS, June 6. This exciting day will include a dance party with a DJ, games, photo booths, Ninja Warrior games, snacks and treats, inflatables, and more. The cost is $15 per student. Details were sent home with students. Payment and permission forms are due Friday, May 17.
Reminders Lost and Found We are approaching the end of the school year, and our lost and found is getting full. Please have your student check for missing items as all unclaimed items will be donated to charity after June 6.
Athletics Our spring athletics are finally enjoying real spring weather. Spring sports are primarily held outside; please dress for our ever changing Minnesota weather. Schedules for athletics can be found on our website. Come cheer on our students.
2019 Freshman Football Players Get in the game with a parent/player football meeting tonight, Wednesday, May 15, 6:00 p.m. in the Wayzata High School Auditorium. Doors will be open at 5:30 to order apparel, sign up for camps and more. Checks and cash will be accepted. Coaches and football Booster reps will be there to answer questions. PTA Meeting - Topic: Vaping – May 21 The next PTA meeting is Tuesday, May 21 from 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Our guest speaker, Ali Wobschall, Director of Partners in Prevention, will present on an important topic that is trending among teens today – vaping. In October 2018, the Minnesota Department of Health issued a serious health advisory regarding this trend, because for the first time in nearly 18 years youth tobacco rates rose. Vaping is the inhaling and exhaling of an aerosol produced by using a vape device or electronic cigarette. Learn more about vaping and what Wayzata Public Schools is doing to deal this issue.
Take-a-Break Restaurant Night with Café Zupas Take a break from cooking and join us at Café Zupas (located by Ridgedale) for a delicious, house-made meal. On Tuesday, May 21 from 5 -9 p.m,. CMS PTA is teaming up with Café Zupas for our final restaurant night fundraiser of the year. Just bring in the Café Zupas flyer, show it on your smartphone, or let the cashier know you are with CMS, and 25% of the proceeds will be donated to CMS PTA!
