6th Grade Parent Newsletter Principal's Message It is hard to believe how fast the school year has gone! Our students have been working very hard on various projects, and also their music concerts, which were wonderful! Students are still working on homework to help prepare for final assessments. We need to make sure we finish the year strong and that our students maintain East Mode (Effort, Attitude, Self-Discipline, Trojan Pride). If students are unable to follow our behavior guidelines, they may be at risk of losing their end-of-year grade level celebrations. We appreciate all of the parental and community support to finish the year on a positive note. East 5K - May 31, 2019 Registration is now open for the East Middle School 5K Fun Run, which will be held on Friday, May 31 at East! This year's proceeds will benefit Midwest Animal Rescue and Services (MARS). MARS is committed to the awareness and support of homeless dogs and cats in our area. Through rescue, rehabilitation, foster care, training and adoption, all roads lead to home for special animals. This is a family event and open for all ability levels, but only registered participants will receive a race t-shirt and packet. Registration is available online through EPay or you can print out and complete the brochure and return to your student's advisor. Please register by May 20 to guarantee delivery of a race t-shirt on race day. Online registration closes on May 29. We will continue to accept registrations until the start of the race, but cannot guarantee a t-shirt. To volunteer, make a donation, or ask a question, please email Debbie Kimlinger or call her at 763-745-6231. Computer Programming Camp for Girls Attention parents of 6th and 7th grade girls!
