Principal's Note We have finished MCA testing. Students worked very hard. Thank you for making sure they were ready and rested for the tests.
As we move on towards the last month of school, we have many scheduled activities. Our activities include field trips, BOGO Book Fair, First Grade Rain Forest presentation, Second Grade Wack-a-do-Zoo performance, and Fifth Grade DARE graduation.
We have also started planning for next year as well. On Thursday, May 16, we will have a Kindergarten Welcome event for the next fall kindergartners and their parents. It will be 3:00 - 3:45 p.m. If you haven't emailed your RSVP, there is still time to do so. Make sure you include your child's name in the email.
If you are planning on moving within the school district over the summer, let the Welcome Center know and send them a copy of the purchase agreement, or lease. If you are moving out of state, contact Oakwood's secretary, Trish Hill, so she can get your child's records ready to forward to the new school.
Please have your children check the lost and found bin. It is now over flowing with sweatshirts and jackets. We will donate items without names, at the end of the month.
Did You Know? Order Next Year's School Supplies We partnered with 1st Day School Supplies again to help parents get the supplies needed for next school year without the hassle and aggravation of shopping in stores. So, this summer as the temperature hits over 100° and lines at the checkout counter are a mile long skip the store and order your kit from the comfort of your own home. School supplies will be delivered to your child's classroom prior to the first day of school.
