Principal's Note Gleason Lake has three staff members who are retiring at the end of the 2018-2019 school year. Susan Branson, kindergarten teacher, Nancy Rice, health paraprofessional, and Shelley Woodbury, lunch/recess paraprofessional. Did You Know? Last Chance to Order Twins Tickets – Order by Sunday, May 5 It's time for the 10th Annual Gleason Lake Twins Outing, Sunday, May 12 at 1:10 p.m.! Let's take this great opportunity for our school community to get together outside of school, have fun, meet other Gleason Lake families, and cheer for the Minnesota Twins! Tickets are $23.95. Order early to guarantee your spot; tickets are sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Sunday, May 5 is the last day to order tickets! Moving? Changing Schools? If your family is moving to a new address or changing schools anytime between now and the beginning of the 2019-2020 school year, please contact the Gleason Lake office as soon as possible. It is important that we have accurate information regarding your student's address and school plans. May Kindness Project – May 23 and 24 Calling all caring kids! First through fifth grade students will have the opportunity to participate in an outdoor Kindness Club project during one of their regular recess times. We will be assembling and decorating snack bags for children at The Family Partnership. Interested students will have the chance to sign up in their classrooms ahead of time. Together, students will be filling a need for other kids in our wider community and will leave feeling great they have taken time to do something kind for someone else.
Snack Donations Drive – April 29-May 17 The Gleason Kindness Club will be hosting a snack donation drive to aid in our kindness activity. Students may deliver items to the labeled bin at the bubble. Items needed are the following in individual snack sizes: juice boxes, raisins, dried fruit, granola bars, crackers, pretzels, apple sauce and fruit cups in water. Save the Date: Ice Cream Social for Incoming Kindergarteners and All Families – May 30 Join us for fun at this all-school event for families May 30, 5:00-6:30 p.m.! Ice cream treats and cookies will be available in the commons. We welcome all new incoming kindergarten families and families new to Gleason Lake. At this event, we will have a special kindergarteners-only bouncy house on the kindergarten playground. Incoming kindergarten families will also have a scavenger hunt for the whole family to enjoy finding certain rooms all around the school. We look forward to see you there!

Box Tops are like gold Did you know each Box Top for Education is worth 10¢? Last year you helped collect enough to earn more than $1,500 for Gleason Lake! Check baking goods, cereal boxes, frozen vegetables, paper products, snacks, Ziploc bags and Hefty trash bags, just to name a few, for Box Tops. Like apps? There is a Box Tops Bonus App that lets you buy, scan and earn for education. It's the last collection of the year, please turn in Box Tops to your teacher by May 10. Ask friends and family to participate, too.We are looking for volunteers to take over the Community Fundraising/Box Tops position next year.
