Ice Cream Party
Our team is planning an epic ice cream party to express our appreciation to the countless volunteers in our school. Please join us for an "Ice Cream Social" put on by our staff. We will be serving scoops after school on Tuesday, April 9 from 2:30-3:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. We tried to plan this at a time when volunteers could bring their kids, so feel free to have them join the fun.  Thank you for all you do to support our students and school!

MCA Testing
Our 3rd-5th grade students will be taking the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments (MCA tests) in Reading on April 9-10 and Math on April 15-16. In addition to these tests, our 5th graders will be taking a Science test on April 23. Please remember that good attendance, punctuality, a balanced diet, and adequate sleep are important all school year; and remain important as 3rd-5th graders are putting forth their best efforts on these assessments.

Parent Input Form

Below is a link to our Parent Input Form.  Please submit a paper copy of your input form to the main office by April 1. We ask that the form is used for all parent input. This ensures that important information is available to staff throughout the placement process. Please do not rely upon verbal requests, conferences, emails, past years' forms, etc. to provide input; we've found that we can best serve kids when a consistent process and annually updated form is used.

Assembly for North Woods Elementary Students

We're planning an opportunity for 1st-4th grade students who will be attending North Woods Elementary next year to come together in our gym during the school day on Monday, March 25. As part of this initial transition experience, students will have the chance to connect with their future principal, see other classmates who will be joining them at the new school, and cast a ballot for their new school mascot. Kindergarten students will participate in mascot voting as well within their classrooms.

Spring Break

Spring Break is approaching, but we've got lots of learning and fun planned leading up to break. School will be in session through Wednesday, March 27. There will be no school for students Thursday, March 28 through Sunday, April 7.

Thanks for your partnership and support,

Brad Gustafson, Principal

Carnival Recap

Thank you, Greenwood community, for another memorable, successful, and fun Carnival night last Friday. Our second-largest PTA fundraiser of the year would not be possible without the support of the amazing Greenwood families who attended, supported, donated, bought tickets, bid on theme baskets, planned, volunteered, set-up, tore down, etc. We appreciate you!

Silent Auction Results

The Carnival silent auction, which included classroom theme baskets and Disney World ticket packages (new this year), brought in nearly $7,000, all of which directly benefits our school.

Special Thanks

The PTA would like to give special recognition to our Carnival co-chairs, committee members, and volunteers for making the event a success; to the Greenwood custodial staff for the extra hours spent keeping our school beautiful; to the many staff members who contributed their time and opened their classrooms to the Carnival; and last but not least, to Dr. G. and the front office staff for all they do to support our efforts. Can't wait to do it all again next year!

Over the next several weeks, elementary students in grades 3-5 will be completing the 2019 Reading and Math Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments (MCAs). MCA Purpose, Use, and Results Information

Are Your Kids Ready?
Following the Minnesota State Statute 121A.15 (School immunization requirements) and Wayzata Public School Immunization Policy and Regulation, your child will not be able to start or remain enrolled at school without an immunization record that is up-to-date, actively in progress or without a legal exemption. Note: there are additional requirements for Kindergarten and 7th grade. It is best to receive vaccinations from your primary care provider, but in the event that you are unable to see your primary provider or if you do not have insurance that covers the cost of vaccinations, Wayzata Public Schools is a participant in the Park Nicollet Barrier Free Immunization Initiative. This program allows immunization-only visits on a same-day appointment basis, immunizes children without a doctor visit and provides immunizations with no direct charge to families.
