Looking for a great way to support Wayzata Class of 2021? Our Seniors have worked so hard and deserve a fantastic celebration as they wrap up their years at Wayzata High School. Please consider making a donation in support of the Senior Class Party. We have a plan in place and are determined to host a well deserved, fun, and COVID safe celebration. Current restrictions prohibited many of our traditional type of fundraisers, so we created this opportunity for our community to come together to make a difference in the party planning process.

The Virtual German Exchange Begins Our Virtual Exchange between Wayzata High School and Humboldt Gymnasium in Germany is happening now - February 1-20.
20 students from each school are getting to know each other as they engage in projects together and interact on Zoom and other platforms. Together they are exploring the themes of everyday life, sustainability and diversity.
Although there is no travel this year, we are still able to engage and fulfill the main purposes of our exchange; broadening our perspectives, learning about our own identities and connecting with people and cultures through German and English around topics important to our world.
We have been exchanging with Humboldt in Dusseldorf Germany since 1976. We hope to host and travel again in the future, but might also keep some virtual options open as well, so think about participating in the program in the future. Contact: Karen Nickel

English Department Feature The English department continues to offer more elective opportunities for students. New this year is Digital Literacy, Reading And Writing In The 21st Century (1 Term) offered for 11th and 12th graders. This course provides students an opportunity to discuss reading, writing, and creating media in the ever-changing digital world, but with these changes come issues of online safety, cyberbullying, data privacy, misinformation, and screen time addiction. Reading and writing today requires students to utilize updated strategies. Through an exploration of persuasive techniques used and validity of information presented in mass media, this course will teach students not only to become digitally literate but also to become digital citizens that can safely and effectively navigate a dynamic digital landscape.
