Description of activity: SkillsUSA is a student professional organization that promotes technical skills, leadership, community service, personal development and training for future careers. Conferences include: Delegate and Leadership Conferences in the fall, State Conferences in the Spring and the National Leadership and Skills Conference (for qualifiers) in June of each year.

Length of season: School year

Practice times: One day a week. Thursdays after school. Beginning in January - two days a week until competition is over.

Practice site: D216

Competitions: State Skills Competition in March. National Leadership Conference in Kentucky - third week of June, each year.

Eligibility requirements: Open to any student enrolled in an Engineering, Technology and Design class during the school year. Meet MSHSL and Wayzata Public Schools Eligibility Requirements and maintain academic eligibility.

Average number of members: 15

Costs and/or needed equipment: Participation fee through EPay

Awards criteria & type of awards: Competition awards. Lettering requirements determined by advisors.

Student leadership: Student Officers selected by participating WHS SkillsUSA Student.
