Dear Students and Parents/Guardians:
Thank you for your continued support and patience as we prepare for the start of the 2020-2021 school year under a new modified hybrid model of learning. We are excited for the start of the school year! This letter contains important information and details to help you prepare for September 14.
Daily Student Experience Students will be expected to attend each class, every day. Zoom session information will be shared via teachers on their Canvas page. When students arrive at WHS for hybrid courses, they will be expected to enter through our main doors (main/front entrance, auditorium entrance, athletic entrance, or bus "Scholar Door" entrance) and have their temperature taken via an automated kiosk. Masks and social distancing (6') will be required.

Schedule changes may be requested via the Summer Schedule Change Request Form.
The following courses are available; please email Tyler Shepard or your counselor if you are interested!
Transportation Transportation routes will be available in the morning, mid-day, and afternoon. The Wayzata Transportation department will reach out to families to inform them of their pick-up/drop-off times and location(s). Call 763-745-5195 with any transportation-related questions.
Parking Lot Wayzata Public Schools partnered with the City of Plymouth to make some significant improvements to the Wayzata High School entrance at Peony Lane and Schmidt Lake Road (watch the City of Plymouth video). Note that we are still in the process of identifying occasional hybrid courses and the list will be updated in real time to keep you informed. All other courses will be offered as distance learning courses.
Virtual Open House: Tuesday, September 15 A virtual Open House is scheduled Tuesday, September 15, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Open house will consist of the following:
9th Grade Orientation All incoming 9th grade students and new-to-Wayzata students will be invited to attend orientation, according to the schedule as shown below. Transportation will be provided. Link Leaders will be present to lead students through a variety of orientation activities. Lunch will be included to allow all students the experience of navigating WHS Culinary Express. Students will also have the opportunity to collect curricular materials, such as textbooks, during their orientation. Please read the "Welcome Class of 2024 letter" from Wayzata Link Crew!
Curriculum Distribution In order to safely distribute textbooks and other necessary materials, we have scheduled curriculum distribution on September 9 and 10 for all students in grades 10-12. Freshmen who attend orientation will receive curricular materials on their orientation day as noted above. More information about curriculum distribution will be sent out to families prior to September 9.
Student Newsletter In an effort to keep all students informed, we will be implementing a weekly student newsletter this year! The newsletter will be sent to students on Friday of each week to allow them to stay on top of everything happening at WHS for the following week. Students, staff, parents, and guardians are all welcome to contribute information into this newsletter! Please share content via the WHS Student Newsletter Content Submission.
We look forward to the start of the school year and will continue to keep you informed of important information as it becomes available.
