Wayzata Public Schools will be Closed through April 30
Dear WPS Families and Staff,
On Wednesday, March 25, 2020, Governor Walz issued an executive order that directs all Minnesotans to stay at home and limit movement out of their homes beyond essential needs effective Friday, March 27 at 11:59 p.m. to Friday, April 10. This two-week, stay-at-home order is to be followed by an additional three weeks of social distancing. Click here for more information about the Governor’s order.
I’m writing to provide information about how the new order affects Wayzata Public Schools. Based on the new order, distance learning has been extended through April 30, 2020. Online learning will begin for our students on Monday, April 6 following our previously-scheduled spring break.
Governor Walz has indicated that at this time the intent is for school staff to return to work on Friday, May 1 and Monday, May 4 in order to prepare for students to return to school on Tuesday, May 5. The Governor stressed that this plan is subject for re-evaluation based on what happens with the evolving coronavirus situation.
Food Distribution Continues for Students in Need
