Five years ago, the Wayzata Special Education Advisory Committee (WSEAC) created an annual award to honor outstanding staff members who go above and beyond to make our schools truly inclusive. This spring, families and staff nominated educators who make a real difference for students with disabilities, and the WSEAC selected this year’s winners at their May meeting. This award celebrates staff who create a sense of belonging for every student. Please join us in honoring Adam Fleischacker, a teacher at North Woods Elementary.

Denise K receives Employee of the Month award

Kimberly Lane Elementary is proudly recognizing Denise Krzewinski for its Employee of the Month award. Denise has worked at Kimberly Lane Elementary since 2015 in a variety of roles from Wayzata Kids, to kindergarten and recess paraprofessional, to her current role as administrative professional. 

Three Wayzata High School Seniors named 2026 Presidential Scholar finalists

Three Wayzata High School seniors have made it to the final round of the 2026 U.S. Presidential Scholars Program. Congratulations to Jasper Z. Fang, Aaratrika Mondal, and Tanush Reddy Thimmasani on this great achievement!

The U.S. Department of Education chose these students from a group of 627 semifinalists across the country. Making it this far is a huge honor that recognizes the hard work and talent of top students nationwide.

On Friday, May 1, students and staff celebrated Spirit Day. We encouraged everyone to wear clothing that reflected their family heritage or personal identity to celebrate our "many cultures, one community" spirit.

Central Middle School is very proud to honor and recognize Sarah Paul as the May Employee of the Month! Sarah Paul is a dedicated building substitute who has become an indispensable member of the Central Middle School team. She is known for being up for any classroom assignment and for approaching every challenge with a positive energy that resonates throughout the building. Sarah connects deeply with both students and staff, demonstrating an amazing work ethic and a reputation for reliability. If Sarah is given a task, the staff knows it will be completed with excellence.
