Nordic Ski

 

 

Description of sport: Competitive cross country ski racing in both skating and classical technique.

Where to go for more information: Activities Office or www.wayzatanordic.com.

Length of season: Practice begins November 11, 2019.

Practice times: 3:30 - 5:30 p.m.

Practice site: WHS, local parks, or ski areas.

Competitions: Mid-December through mid-February: five conference races, 1-3 invitationals, regional and state competitions are held.

Eligibility requirements: Meet the MSHSL rules and the Wayzata Public Schools Eligibility Requirements. Must be fully registered with the Activities Office. Eligible sports qualifying physical, eligibility form and fee payment must be on file in the Activities Office before participation.

Average number of members: 100 plus, both boys and girls.

Costs and/or needed equipment: Participation fee and ski equipment.

Awards criteria & type of awards: Lettering requirements determined by head coach.

Student leadership: Two or more captains are selected for the girls team and two or more captains are selected for the boys team.
