Track and Field, Girls

Description of sport: Competition in sprints, hurdles, relays, distance running, jumps, shot put, pole vault and discus. This is not a workout club.

Where to go for more information: Activities Office.

Length of season: Practice begins March 9, 2020.

Practice and/or meeting times: Monday through Friday 3:30 - 5 p.m. and Saturday mornings for varsity and those who desire to be varsity.

Practice and/or meeting site: WHS track.

Competitions: One to two meets per week and some Saturday meets.

Eligibility requirements: Meet MSHSL, Wayzata Public Schools, and team eligibility requirements. Must be fully registered with the Activities Office. Eligible sports qualifying physical, eligibility form and fee payment must be on file in the Activities Office before participation.

Costs and/or needed equipment: Participation fee, good running shoes with arch supports, spikes or appropriate shoes for competition, solid black tights and black long sleeve shirt for wear under the uniform in colder weather, sweats, rain gear.

Awards criteria & type of awards: Lettering requirements determined by head coach.

Student leadership: Captains are chosen by the coaching staff with input from the previous season's captains.
