C-Team (7th & 8th Grade) Information

7th/8th Grade Middle School Advance Team - C-Team

Goals: One goal of this program is to expose interested, motivated and talented middle school
tennis players to stronger competition and more individualized instruction. This will also give
High School coaches an opportunity to meet and work with future players at an earlier age when
skill development and proper technique is critical. Finally, this program will promote more
Trojan pride in tennis and teamwork across middle schools as they progress towards one high
Vision: Interested players would register in the Spring in the High School Activities Website.
Tryouts would be held the week before spring break starting on Monday, March 27th and ending
on Wednesday, March 29th. Once tryouts are over, practices/matches will be held Monday –
Friday from 4:30– 6:00 at Parkers Lake tennis courts. There will be no practice the week of
Spring Break. Parents would carpool players to and from practice and to home and away
matches. Matches would be played against other JV or C-team programs in the area. Home
matches will be at Parkers Lake and Central Middle School.
Pros: Involve more talented, younger players in a school tennis team program
Better match play experience.
More practice time.
Camaraderie between players from all three middle schools.
More of a coordinated feeder program to improve High School team.
