Synchronized Swim, Girls

Description of sport: Competitive synchronized swimming.

Length of season: Practice begins March 2, 2020. 12-13 weeks.

Practice and/or meeting times: High School Swimmers: Monday through Friday 3:45 - 6:30 p.m.; Saturdays 8 -2 p.m. Middle School Swimmers: Monday through Friday 4:30-6:30 p.m. Saturdays 8 - 2 p.m.

Practice and/or meeting site: Lifetime Fitness Pool, West Middle School Pool and East Middle School Pool.

Competitions: 6-8 dual meets; sectionals and state. Dual meets are usually held on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Sections are Tuesday p.m. and all day Saturday the week before state. State is all day Thursday and Friday before Memorial Day.

Eligibility requirements: Meet MSHSL and Wayzata Public Schools Eligibility Requirements. Grades 7-12. Must be fully registered with the Activities Office. Eligible sports qualifying physical, eligibility form and fee payment must be on file in the Activities Office before participation.

Average number of members: 55.

Costs and/or needed equipment: Participation fee. Swim suit(s), goggles, nose clip and cup must be provided by the team member.

Awards criteria and type of awards: Lettering requirements determined by head coach.

Student leadership: Captains are selected by the team and coaching staff.

Additional information: Must be able to swim 200 yards non-stop. Tryouts are held to determine routine(s) placement.
