Description of sport: Girls competitive swimming and diving.

Length of season: Practice begins Monday, August 12, 2019. The season is 14 weeks for Varsity and 11-12 weeks for Junior Varsity.

Practice times:

  • High School: Monday-Friday 4-6 p.m. Saturday from 7:45-10 a.m. (dry land and swimming).
  • Middle school: Monday-Friday 4:30-6:30 p.m. at East Middle School.

Practice site: Lifetime Plymouth and East Middle School.

Competitions: 8-10 dual meets, 1-3 invitationals, sectionals and state. Dual meets are usually held on Tuesdays or Thursdays at Lifetime Fitness.

Eligibility requirements: Meet the MSHSL and Wayzata Public Schools eligibility requirements. Must sign swim and dive ethics letter. Tryouts are held for this team. Must be fully registered with the Activities Office. Eligible sports qualifying physical, eligibility form and fee payment must be on file in the Activities Office before participation.

Average number of members: 60.

Costs and/or needed equipment: Participation fee, swim suit, goggles and a cap.

Awards criteria & type of awards: Lettering requirements determined by head coach.

Student leadership: One to four captains will be selected by the team and coaching staff.

Additional information: Swimmers should be familiar with all four competitive strokes. Divers should be familiar with 6 and 11 dive lists.
