Trojan Power

The Trojan Power Program is an enrichment opportunity. It is not a requirement of the Athletic Department or any of the Wayzata High School sports teams.


Our goal at Wayzata High School is to develop each student-athlete in a comprehensive, year-round, strength and conditioning program, in order to help him/her reach their greatest potential mentally and physically. Wayzata High School's state of the art facility allows the best specialized instruction available. All areas of the "Trojan Power Program" are within MSHSL guidelines.

Why Train at Wayzata?

Training at Wayzata provides you and your peers with an excellent opportunity to train with teammates in a sport/activity specific program. The Trojan Power staff ensures proper technique and instruction in all phases of training. How hard you work will be determined by how hard you and your teammates wish to go!


Students must provide their own transportation.


Trojan Power is open to students entering grades 6-12 (2019-2020 school year) who attend Wayzata Public Schools. Home school students who live in the Wayzata Public Schools boundaries and are registered with the district as a home school are also eligible to participate if entering grades 6-12 (2019-2020 school year).

Weight Room

During the school year, the Wayzata High School weight room will be open to Wayzata students from 7:00-8:15 &  3:10-4:45 p.m. The weight room is supervised by WHS Staff. There is no charge for entrance. There are workouts available upon request. Students must wear athletic clothing. Students enrolled in Wayzata Public Schools may register for the Trojan Power Program for summer training.

Please note that all students working out in the weight room during the summer need to be registered for Trojan Power. Specific sport camp and clinic fees do not cover the Trojan Power registration.

Trojan Power Registration

Sessions are Monday, June 17 through Wednesday, July 31 and run Monday through Thursday at Wayzata High School and West Middle School. No training on Wednesday, July 3 and Thursday, July 4.

Registration begins April 17. The last day to register online is June 13 at 12 p.m. Please register by the deadline.

Payments after the June 13 deadline will need to be made in person. Paperwork will need to accompany your registration. Form can be found on the camps and clinics page once registration begins.

Online payment option has been extended to Thursday, June 13, at 12 p.m. Registrations will need to be completed in person after that time. No credit cards.

Refunds: Refunds will be prorated from the opening day of the Trojan Power Program, June 17, until the day the Athletic Department receives notification and completed paperwork from the student or parent. A processing fee of $10 and a t-shirt fee of $10 will also be deducted from the refund.

Session 1

Boys' Basketball players entering grades 9-12 - Strength Training 9:30-11 a.m.

Session 2

Boys' Basketball/Football players entering grades 7-8 - Strength Training 11-12:30 p.m.

Session 3

Girls' Basketball players entering grades 9-12 - Strength, Speed & Agility Training - varies. See girls' basketball calendar.

Session 4

Girls' Basketball players entering grades 6-8 - Strength and Speed & Agility Training - varies. See girls' basketball calendar.

Session 5

Dance Team dancers entering grades 9-12. 11-12:30 p.m.

Session 6

Football players entering grades 9-12 - Strength Training 8-11 a.m.

Session 7

Swim and Dive athletes entering grades 7-12 - Strength Training and Conditioning 1-2:30 p.m.

Session 8

Wrestlers entering grades 7-12 - Strength Training and Conditioning 9:30-11 a.m.

Training is not team specific for the following sessions.

Session 9

Training is available for students entering grades 9-12 - Strength Training 9:30-11 a.m.

Session 10

Training is available for student entering grades 9-12. Speed & Agility Training 10-11 a.m. and Strength Training 11-12 p.m.

Session 11

Training is available for students entering grades 6-12 from 1-2:30 p.m.

Session 12

Training is available for students entering grades 6-12 from 2-3:30 p.m.

Volleyball Players Shortened Session

If you are a volleyball player who is only attending Trojan Power during the month of July, you will NOT be able to register on Epay. You will need to fill out paperwork and pay your fee in the Activities Office. If you are planning on attending Trojan Power for June and July, then please register on Epay for Session 11.

Trojan Power READINESS (June 17 - July 31)

All training will take place at West Middle School. If less than 15 students are registered, they will be moved to a different session or offered a refund. Training is designed for the pre-adolescent athlete. The focus will be on strength training basics including core strength, body weight exercises, speed, agility and endurance. This READINESS program is not based on using heavy weights to develop strength. All activities are age appropriate and constructed with fitness in mind.

Session 13 – West Middle School

Training is available for incoming 6th, 7th and 8th graders 9-10:30 a.m.

Session 14 – West Middle School

Training is available for incoming 6th, 7th and 8th graders 10:30-12 p.m.

Session times vary by sport because of sport specific training that takes place after Trojan Power.
