Intramurals

Wayzata High School currently offers four intramural programs. The intramural programs are for Wayzata High School students only. The students compete in organized games. There are no practices or instruction on how to play. Students cannot participate in intramurals if they are playing in a school sponsored sport during the same season.

Students wishing to participate in an intramural program must follow the same registration guidelines as the athletic programs. Please visit the registration page for more information.

  1. Sports Qualifying Physical Exam - Must be dated after 6/15/16 (2018-2019)
  2. MSHSL/WHS Eligibility Form - Must be on file in the Activities Office
  3. Fee Payment

We must have at least 10 students registered by the deadline date to run golf and badminton. For flag football, we must have at least four teams registered.

Golf

The golf course asks that student participating in intramural golf have experience and a general knowledge of how to play golf.

Length of season: Five Mondays beginning September 17.

Dates: September 17, 24, October 1, 8, and 15. Tee times will begin at 3:30. 

Site: Hollydale Golf Course. Participants must provide their own transportation.

Times: Tee times range between 3:30 p.m. and 3:55 p.m.

Average number of members: 15. If fewer than 10 students register, then the activity will be dropped.

Costs and/or needed equipment: Participation fee and Golf Clubs.

Awards criteria and type of awards: Prizes to winning individuals.

Additional Information: Participants are expected to know the rules and behavior required to play golf.

Badminton

Length of season: September 25, 27, October 2, 9, and 15. (2018-2019)
We currently do not have enough players to hold this activity. We will extend the registration date to September 21. If at least 10 students are not registered by that date, the intramural will be dropped for the fall.

Sites: Wayzata High School in gyms 5 and 6.

Times: Approximately 3:30-4:45 p.m.

Costs and/or needed equipment: Participation fee. Athletic wear.

Awards criteria and type of awards: Prizes to winning teams.

Basketball

Length of season: 11 weeks beginning the 2nd week of December and ending the first week of March.

Sites: WHS gymnasiums.

Sign up: Students must follow the athletic registration process. Your name must be submitted on a team roster by the deadline date that will be on the information sheet. We do not place students on team rosters. You must find your own team.

Times: Schedule varies. Games are plugged into the winter gym schedule between Varsity/JV/10th/9th Basketball and Dance Team practices/meets.

Average number of members: 175.

Costs and/or needed equipment: Participation fee. Athletic wear.

Awards criteria and type of awards: Prizes to winning teams.

Special Notes: Basketball is a team competition. Participants must be a part of a team roster.

Flag Football

Length of season: Games will be played after school beginning in September.

Dates: September 25, October 2, 3, 11, 16.

Sites: 9th Grade football field behind the stadium.

Sign up: Students must follow the athletic registration process. Your name must be submitted on a team roster by the deadline date that will be on the information sheet. We do not place students on team rosters. You must find your own team.

Times: Approximately 3:30-4:30.

Average number of members: 50.

Costs and/or needed equipment: Participation fee, athletic clothing.

Awards criteria and type of awards: Prizes to winning teams.

Special Notes: Flag Football is a team competition. Participants must be a part of a team roster.
