Intramurals

Wayzata High School currently offers four intramural programs. The intramural programs are for Wayzata High School students only. The students compete in organized games. There are no practices or instruction on how to play. Students cannot participate in intramurals if they are playing in a school sponsored sport during the same season.

Students wishing to participate in an intramural program must follow the same registration guidelines as the athletic programs. Please visit the registration page for more information.

  1. Sports Qualifying Physical Exam - Must be dated after 6/15/17 (2019-2020)
  2. MSHSL/WHS Eligibility Form - Must be on file in the Activities Office
  3. Fee Payment

We must have at least 10 students registered by the deadline date to run golf and badminton. For flag football, we must have at least four teams registered.

Badminton

Length of season: September 16-October 16. Dates to be determined.

Sites: Wayzata High School in gyms 5 and 6.

Times: Approximately 3:30-4:30 p.m. September 17, 24, 26, October 3, 10. **As of 9/16 there are not enough students fully registered. We will start 9/24 if more students complete the registration.

Costs and/or needed equipment: Participation fee. Athletic wear.

Awards criteria and type of awards: Prizes to winning teams.

Flag Football

Length of season: Games will be played after school beginning in September.

Dates: September 17, 19, 24, 26, and October 3 at 3:30 p.m.

Sites: Grass field closest to the softball field. Park at the softball field.

Sign up: Students must follow the athletic registration process. We currently have 3 teams participating in the intramural football league.

Times: Approximately 3:30-4:30.

Average number of members: 30.

Costs and/or needed equipment: Participation fee, athletic clothing.

Awards criteria and type of awards: Prizes to winning teams.

Special Notes: Flag Football is a team competition. Participants must be a part of a team roster.

Golf

Length of season: Four Mondays and one Wednesday beginning September 16.

Dates: September 16, 23, October 2 (Wednesday), 7, and 14. Tee times will begin at 3:30. 

Site: Hollydale Golf Course. Participants must provide their own transportation.

Times: Tee times range between 3:30 p.m. and 3:55 p.m.

Average number of members: 15. If fewer than 10 students register, then the activity will be dropped.

Costs and/or needed equipment: Participation fee and Golf Clubs.

Awards criteria and type of awards: Prizes to winning individuals.

Additional Information: Participants are expected to know the rules and behavior required to play golf.

Basketball

Length of season: Registration takes place in December. Games will run January through the first week of March. The game times are structured around winter sports practices. 

Sites: WHS gymnasiums.

Sign up: Students must follow the athletic registration process. Your name must be submitted on a team roster by the deadline date that will be on the information sheet. We do not place students on team rosters. You must find your own team. If there are enough teams, we will split into a 9/10 grade league and a 11/12 grade league. If there are not enough teams, all grades/genders will be mixed into one league.

Times: Schedule varies. Games are plugged into the winter gym schedule between Varsity/JV/10th/9th Basketball and Dance Team practices/meets.

Average number of members: 75.

Costs and/or needed equipment: Participation fee. Athletic wear.

Awards criteria and type of awards: Prizes to winning teams.

Special Notes: Basketball is a team competition. Participants must be a part of a team roster. We do not place individuals onto teams. These are games only. There are no team practices.
