Future Problem Solving

Description of activity: Statewide competition involving problem solving of real issues facing today’s society.

Where to go for more information: B207 - Gifted & Talented Office or A249.

Length of season: September through April (unless advancing to Internationals).

Practice times: About once a week from September to mid-April.

Practice sites: A249.

Competitions: Write on three problems at a regional, state and/or national tournament.

Eligibility requirements: Students in grades 9-12 who meet the Wayzata Public Schools Extra-Curricular Eligibility Requirements.

Average number of members: Four students per team. No limit to number of teams.

Costs and/or needed equipment: Participation fee through EPay.

Awards criteria & type of awards: Lettering requirements determined by head coach. A copy of the requirements is available in the Activities Office. Certificates of participation, ribbons, medals and trophies.
