Chess Club

Description of activity: Competitive chess for all levels of players. Wayzata students in Grades 9-12 are welcome and no experience is necessary.

Length of season: October through March

Meeting times: 3:30-5 p.m. Open house on October 12, 2018. Practice on every Friday when school is in session starting November 2, 2018 through March 15, 2019 (except December 21, 2018).

Meeting site: Media Center Classroom

Competitions: Minnesota State Scholastic Championship in March 2019

Eligibility requirements: Meet the Wayzata Public Schools Extra-Curricular Eligibility Requirements Grades 9-12.

Costs and/or needed equipment: Participation fee is $55 to the Activities Office. Additional fees for tournaments.

Student leadership: Captains and assistant coaches are selected.

* Minnesota High School Chess League online match at Media Center Classroom followed by practice.
