We are intentional about how technology is used at the high school level.
Device and app rules
- Approved apps only: Each grade level receives a customized set of approved learning apps.
- App requests: Staff and students can request new apps, but district technology staff must approve them first.
- Academic focus: Screen time stays focused on coursework and direct instruction.
Device pick-up schedule by grade
- 9th grade: iPads handed out at Back-to-Business in mid-August.
- 10th grade: iPads handed out at Back-to-Business in mid-August.
- 11th grade: Varies by student.
- 12th grade: Varies by student.
- Transition: Varies by student.
What's next for families?
- Resources: Families will receive resources from the district and from schools to partner with us in this work, and tips on how to manage technology use at home.
- Feedback: We will proactively get feedback from families throughout the school year.
