Math Supports

We support students who need extra instruction to meet grade-level standards in math.

Levels of support

We work as a team to deliver targeted instruction to meet each student's needs.

The support may include:

  • Classroom interventions
  • Small-group sessions with a math specialist
  • Foundational skills practice with trained support staff

Grades K-5

This is how that progression works in elementary school.

  • Additional instruction from their classroom teacher during class time.
  • Designated support time during the instructional day.
  • Support from a math specialist in the classroom.
  • Small group help outside the classroom from a math specialist. 

Grades 6-8

This is how that progression works in middle school.

  • Teachers provide targeted support in the classroom.
  • Additional support is provided outside the classroom.

Grades 9-12

This is how that progression works in high school.

  • Additional instruction from classroom teacher.

  • Targeted support from academic mentor during class time.

  • Specialized instructional support classes to address foundational skills.

  • Get help in the Math Exploration Center (MEC) during the school day.
