K-5 Emergency Learning Plan

Plan learning activities

• Create self-directed (asynchrornous) lessons.
• Share through:
  • ParentSquare or Seesaw (Grades K-3)
  • Canvas (Grade 4-5)
  • Physical materials, if needed
• Grades K-2 activities should not require a device to complete.

Be available to students

• Be available by Zoom or phone during the workday until 3 p.m.
• Grades K-2 students may use parents device to connect.

Stay responsive

• Check voicemail, email and Seesaw or Canvas throughout the day.
• Promptly respond to communication related to E-learning.

Collaborate with colleagues

Stay in touch with your Professional Learning Community (PLC) team to:

• Keep learning on track.
• Help out if someone is out sick.

On E-learning days

• Communicate the hours you are available to students and families.
• Post assignments, due dates and learning activities in Canvas or Seesaw.
• Give students timely and actionable feedback.

Find and complete your assignments

• Find your assignment in:
  • ParentSquare or Seesaw (Grades K-3)
  • Canvas (Grade 4-5)
• Grades K-2 activities do not require a device.

Follow your IEP, if you have one.

Ask for help when you need it

Use one of these tools to reach out to your teacher.

• Zoom call
• Phone call

• Seesaw or Canvas message

If you have limited or no internet access, tell your teacher.  They can adjust your assignment, as needed.
 

Attendance

• We record attendance on E-learning days.
• Families should report absences in Skyward.

Teacher availability

• Teachers are available until 3 p.m. on E-learning days. 
• Students can connect with them by Zoom, phone, email, Seesaw or Canvas.

Academics

• E-Learning days help keep students on track.
• You will work on the same state standards as you would in-person.

Internet access

• Students who need internet access should contact the school office.

Make-up work

• Students must complete missed e-Learning assignments on their own time.
