Preschool and PreK Curriculum

Students who are 3- and 4-years-old gain the confidence and skills they need to be ready for kindergarten.

A teacher is assisting a young student with a hands-on learning activity involving colorful building blocks in a classroom setting.

Overview

Our district's preschool and PreK students learn in warm, caring classrooms.

  • We make sure our curriculum is aligned with our district elementary schools.
  • Our classrooms include both typical and special needs students and teachers.
  • We work with Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) teachers to support families.

Creative Curriculum

We use the Creative Curriculum, which combines:

  • A hands-on, exploratory approach to learning.
  • Learning critical thinking skills.

We use Teaching Strategies Gold assessments to make sure we are meeting each child's needs.

Classroom Engagement Model (CEM)

We use the research-based teaching practices to:

  • Engage students.
  • Encourage active participation.

Positive Behavior Interventions and Support (PBIS)

The PBIS model encourages students to:

  • Be safe, kind and helpful.
  • Respond to conflict in a healthy, positive way.
