The PSAT MNSQT measures the key reading, writing, and math skills student learn in high school that are essential for college and career readiness.
Overview
The PSAT NMSQT measures skills in these areas:
- English conventions and rhetorical skills
- Reading comprehension
- Math problem-solving
The purpose of the test:
- The PSAT NMSQT is used to qualify for the National Merit Scholarship Program.
- Helps students prepare for the SAT by testing reading, writing, and math skills.
How it works
- Offered to students in grade 11 in the fall
- Students take this test online, using an iPad
- It is a timed test that typically takes 2.5 hours
Test results
Scores are shared in the assessments section of Skyward Family Access.
