Capti-ReadBasix
Capti ReadBasix is a computer-based diagnostic test that helps teachers better understand how students read.
Overview
Capti ReadBasix measures these reading skills:
- Phonics
- Vocabulary
- Morphology
- Fluency
- Comprehension
The purpose of the test is to:
- Screen students for literacy support needs and identify students with characteristics of Dyslexia.
- Meet the screening requirements in the Minnesota Reading to Ensure Academic Development (READ) Act.
How it works
- We give this test to student in grades 4-12, who have not yet demonstrated grade-level proficiency on standardized reading test, one time per year - fall.
- Students take this test online, using iPads, desktops or laptops.
- It is a timed test that typically takes 40-60 minutes.
Test results
Scores are shared in the assessments section of Skyward Family Access.
